The greatest assets of LifeCare are its team of staff and volunteers.
We have a team of 20 highly qualified staff including clinical psychologists and registered social workers and around 100 volunteers who give up their time as coaches, administrators and supporters.
Our executive team comprises:
Gail Cameron, Executive Director combines her heart for the poor and marginalised, business experience and Christian faith to raise awareness of and help people in tough places flourish, emotionally, socially, economically and spiritually.
Motivated by her Christian faith and personal experience, Gail is passionate about challenging others to gain a greater understanding of what poverty and crisis really mean and what can be done for lasting community transformation. Gail holds a Master of International Business Studies Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing Management. She has local and global experience with creating, managing and executing business strategy. She has held leadership positions in the corporate sector as well as in humanitarian aid, development and community services sectors. Gail lives with her three children as well as two international students. All five were born in different countries, The Netherlands, United States, Australia, Vietnam and China, respectively!
Pastor Toby Baxter, COO COACH, with over twenty years’ experience in Community Ministry & Social Work. He has worked with in the juvenile justice and drug and alcohol sectors but has more recently specialised in developing mentoring and coaching programs for young people and families. He has trained over 900 mentors and coaches in the UK and Australia. He co-founded COACH – Community Mentoring in Australia and a similar program in the UK. He has management experience with the Department of Human Services and Southern Health’s Alcohol & Drug Services. He is a qualified and registered social worker and is currently studying a Masters of Theology at Sydney College of Divinity. Toby enjoys going on wild adventures with his family and reading, modern history and running marathons.
Christina Lim, Head of Services, manages and leads all five LifeCare services provided to the community. Many of these services were first pioneered by her. Christina is part of the LifeCare Executive team and provides executive leadership to the organisation. She has 18 years of management experience in not-for-profit and corporate sectors. She holds a Master in Arts (Counselling), Master in Science (I.T.) and is currently completing her MBA (Executive) and Graduate Certificate in Social Change. She has also completed her Arrow Executive Leadership Program.
Christina’s passion is to help and empower those in need in the community to live out their potential, and flourish. She believes in seeing people transform holistically – socially, emotionally, economically and spiritually – as God cares about our whole beings. Ultimately, she is driven to help people connect to a community of hope, and thrive.
Richard Vernay, Operations and Compliance Manager, has been involved in Christian ministry on a voluntary basis for over 25 years. In that time he has been a leader in Ushering, Security and Life Groups teams and now his wife and two teenage sons are also involved in various ministries around Crossway.
Richard has degrees in Commerce and Finance and has been involved in both small and corporate businesses as a Finance, IT, and Procurement executive for the past 17 years. He is also currently completing his post graduate studies in Corporate Governance with the Governance Institute of Australia.
