LifeCare’s counselling team is passionate about helping people in difficult circumstances find hope, healing and a way forward. Our counsellors and psychologists hold formal qualifications and work in accordance with professional ethical codes. We embrace the Christian worldview and work with people from all walks of life.
How does it work?
Counselling sessions are by appointment and are scheduled for 50 minutes. Extended session times may be organised with the counsellor or psychologist.

Fees – Counselling
Counsellors’ fees are based on a sliding scale according to income. Concessions are available for students, Centrelink card holders and those demonstrating financial hardship.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or missed appointments will incur a cancellation fee of $25.00.
Please Note:
* For couple and family counselling, the combined income of all the clients involved in the session is used to determine the scheduled fee.
** Fees can be negotiated if a client experiences genuine difficulty in paying the scheduled fee recommended for their income level. Any concerns regarding fees should be discussed by the client with their counsellor.
Fees – Psychologist
Psychologists’ fees are funded by Medicare, WorkSafe, TAC, etc. For services under the Medicare Mental Health Care Plan, an out-of-pocket gap fee will usually apply.

Referrals
A doctor’s referral is not necessary to see a counsellor. A doctor’s referral is required for services provided by a psychologist under the Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan.
